Faith in Action for the Month of July

Dear Church family,                                                                  6/29/06

As the Scripture says in Hebrews 10:24-25:  “Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsake the assembling together as is the habit of some, but  encouraging one another and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”   We are excited about the upcoming meetings and happenings at Faith Christian Church in the month of July and encourage your full participation.  On the 1st of July a big crew will gather to “gut out” our two bathrooms in preparation for a complete remodeling job.  During the month of July many have signed up to help us in the remodeling but there is still room for more.  The project will be on going throughout the summer months.

We have changed our worship time this summer to 9:00 AM as I’m sure you are aware.  We have a regular worship service planned for Sunday the 2nd and the 30th of July.  The 9th  and 23rd of July will be devoted to missions.  On the 9th Nancy Olson from Leadership Development International has been asked her to share her work with our fellowship.  We are delighted that she will be in town.  She has a power point presentation for us to see.  On the 23rd of July Jim and Megan Wolfe will give us a report of their work at their University in China.  They are returning this month from their one year commitment.   The youth will be leading in our praise music on the 23rd.  Plan to stay around after the service on both of these dates and continue learning about two of the five missionaries and work we support.  Refreshments will also be served on both Sundays.   You can help us out by volunteering to bring snacks and drinks for everyone.  A clipboard for you sign up on will be distributed on the 2nd and the 9th of July.

On the 16th of July we will meet at the church parking lot at 8:45 AM to travel up north to Schlais’ cottage.  Along with a worship service we will be celebrating the baptism of three young men.  A fellowship meal and lots of summer fun will follow the baptism.  Our theme for the meal is “Lettuce Gather Together.”  Please bring along a topping for the salad, drinks, your favorite salad dressing, and a dish to pass.  The grill will be available for those wishing to grill some meat as well.  The church will provide the Lettuce, cups, plates, and eating utensils.  A map will be handed out on the 2nd and 9th of July at the church.  You also will need Chair(s), your swim suit, towel, and fishing equipment should you venture to make full use of the lake.

On Thursday the 20th of July at 7:00 PM we will have our corporate prayer time.  Come pray for our community for an hour in our prayer room.

If you have further questions about any of the above please don’t hesitate to call me at 982-3101.  We are over $5,000.00 short of our budgeted giving at the midpoint of our fiscal year and our times of corporate prayer have been sparsely attended.  Please don’t forget you spiritual and financial responsibilities in the church family.

Toward a blessed July,

Pastor Paul Franzmeier
